Millenium Falcon Cockpit
In 2016 we were given the opportunity to dress a pre-existing console and cockpit for a Millenium Falcon photo op, for which we are very grateful for the experience. We had one week to prepare whatever parts that we could prior to being flown overseas. Once on location we had less than a week to perform the repairs and finish the piece, while rotating shifts. We didn’t have time to manufacture the yokes prior to flying to location so upon our arrival back home in the states we immediately got to work on fabricating those. We started by 3D modeling the yoke, printing a master, and cleaning that up for making a mold. We then cast two yokes in wax and had a foundry cast the yokes for us in aluminum. Once we finished the patina we mailed them to the location where they were able to easily swap out the temporary plates that we had fastened to the console.
